Three minute Vocational -Rtn Toby Bainbridge

Rtn Toby  packed his three minutes with the story of progress , using transport  developments from the two horse roadway to huge freeways and fast trains  as a paralell, he  related this to the  enormous growth of  the computer industry . He indicated that he had seen the growth  of personal computers from concept to  indispensable personal need of the majority of the worlds population.  The extension of this to  the  National Broadband network he opined  is an essential step which will be  accepted and will be delivered and we are yet to see  what Pc's, phones, Ipads etc will offer in the future.   (In his talk he quoted  Chairman Tom Watson of IBM corporation as saying in the 1970's that pc's would never  reach the stage of being on every desk.)  Just shows how wrong the most informed can be.
