Shine on Awards Mentioned in Parliament

Maryborough Shine On awards Ms STALEY—I attend many fabulous community events in Ripon every week. However, last Sunday I was enormously privileged to attend the Rotary Southern District 2015 Shine On awards at the Maryborough Highland Society. The Shine On awards recognise exceptional volunteering by those with a disability. Among those recognised were two inspiring people from the Ripon electorate, Valerie Lorenzi and Sharni Digby. Like the other awardees from other regions, Valerie and Sharni volunteer across multiple organisations and also work and study. Their community involvement shows there are no barriers to volunteering. As well as to the awardees, I want to pay tribute to Maryborough Rotary who hosted this event.
