Margaret's speech and handout at the Club meeting on 18 August inspired Bryce to pledge our fines and raffle monies immediately to the cause and many Club Members to consider how we can assist in this cause.  Donations of money and fabric, a sewing day were means of supporting Days for Girls which construct and send sanitary wear and underwear in packages to girls in Third World countries whose education is otherwise disrupted by menstruation.  The project then supports communities to manufacture their own products.   Margaret shared her insight into the cultural preferences of the recipients (there being colours and designs that were to be avoided) and we were interested to hear that the education program that accompanies the delivery of the packages includes lessons in reproductive health and self defence.
