Maryborough Aeromedical Transfer Station | Rotary Club of MaryboroughIt is some time since there has been an update on the Maryborough Aeromedical Transfer Station (M.A.T.S.) project.  M.A.T.S. will provide a safe, secure and controlled environment at the local airport for a patient and paramedics before the patient is airlifted to a higher specialist medical facility.

There have been numerous unexpected changes and delays with the M.A.T.S. project but it now seems that there is a clear and definite pathway forward. A revised application for a building permit is soon to be submitted to the Central Goldfields Shire. This process will take several weeks after which the first steps can be taken in readiness for the commencement of the construction.

We are grateful for pledged support from trades and business people who have been patiently waiting to contribute their efforts to the construction of the M.A.T.S. building. At the same time, we again thank the community for their financial donations.

We will continue to “Hasten Slowly!” knowing that the M.A.T.S. building will contribute to improved health outcomes and will be an asset for Maryborough and district communities.
