Last Thursday was our last face to face meeting until further notice, and those 15 members in attendance enjoyed a talk by Katrina Broekkelman about her recent journey with five other younger riders across much of Victoria by horseback to raise funds for Cancer. Local riders joined the team of six as it passed through various communities - starting in Mildura, moving down to central Victoria and then up to Albury where Katrina left the group because her horse was a little sore. The rest of the group continued on - all the way to Queensland, where Katrina rejoined the group to celebrate their feat. Katrina recounted some challenging times along the way including being tossed from her horse after he was spooked by a transport that had not observed safety warnings about horses being ahead. President Leigh thanked Katrina by adding a toilet roll and a bottle of Corona beer to the usual Rotary power pack - much to the amusement of members.
