Rod Brown presented his "State of My Vocation" talk on the 27th and painted a compelling picture of key changes in the transport industry since he started working in this area in the 70's. Truck engines are now almost 4 times as powerful as they were in the 70's and yet they are more fuel efficient. Many different kinds of fuels are being tried and the most promising is liquid gas, but it requires a lot of superstructure changes to make it viable.   The Club thanked Rod for painstakingly explaining the source of his capacity to pay the large and many fines he faced after he finished speaking.
