On Thursday evening, Maryborough Education Centre Teacher Owen Macer provided our members with a clear, engaging and comprehensive understanding of Vocational Pathways available to local young people. Owen explained how the updated Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) now includes an opportunity for students to complete vocationally based subjects as an integral part of their studies. Vocationally based subjects such as Automotive mechanics, Engineering and Catering are called "Vocational Majors" (VM) and are studied alongside traditional subjects like Mathematics and Literacy.
