On Thursday night, several of our members tuned in with 56 other members from the District for an online video conference meeting using the Microsoft Teams program. Teams is just like Zoom, but the District has free access to the professional version as part of a deal with Rotary. DG Rosanne, DG Elect Phil, Pauline Stewart and District Technology chair, Howard Randall all spoke about ways clubs can stay connected during these times of self isolation. They recommended that clubs use both Zoom (mentioned above) and the "What's App" program for in-club communication (we'll trial "What's App" in our club soon). The usual District Assembly to train incoming Rotary officers - held over recent years in Ararat - will all be done on-line this year. In coming officers will be directed to a huge range of on-line training modules prepared by Rotary International and available at Rotary Club Central, as well as some Zoom conferences to provide specific information for clubs in our District. The mass online meetings will be held regularly to keep District members in touch.
