August is Membership Month, and our new monthly Meeting Chair, Kate, certainly brightened and enlivened us all with her own particular style of running the meeting. Thanks Kate. We look forward to future meetings this month.Thank you to our members and the The Board, who agreed to support the national Drought Relief for Farmers Appeal, launched last Thursday by Rotary Australia, Channel Nine and the National Farmers Federation.
Next Friday, Parkview Bakery are donating $1 from every pie/pastie sold and Maryborough Rotary are going to match all funds raised and add more, up to $2000. In addition, the Maryborough Highland Society have joined in and will donate $1 from all meals, proceeds of their Happy Hour raffle and have a Parma for Farmers event. The Advertiser is giving its support and other service Clubs in the town may join us, as we rattle tins and encourage donations at the bakery next Friday.
So be sure to buy a pie, or eat a meal at the Highland or simply drop by to make a donation.
