Thea Allan's Impressions of the Conference:
Ramesh Ferris. what an inspiration!
You could hear a pin drop as Ramesh worked his way backwards up the steps and across the stage.
His story of being adopted at an early age and having treatment was a blessing for him.
Silence again as he attached his right brace and left shoe and arose with both crutches.
Later in life he met other Indians affected by polio, crawling in the dirt and realised how lucky was.
Since then, he has dedicated his life to helping polio victims and working to eradicate polio.
Terry and I were privileged to administer polio drops on National Immunisation Day in 2014 on our Rotary Friendship Exchange to Rajasthan.
I have long been a supporter of End Polio Now, even shaving my head after my year as president to raise money for this cause.
Most of our charity dollars go to The Rotary Foundation, mine particularly to End Polio.
I do hope to see the end of Polio in our world.
