The Finals Footy Frenzy has come and gone for another season and still, very few punters understand how it all works…..just the way we like it. 2012 was the first year that all squares had been sold and together with the donations of winnings, a profit of $730 has been made for the South Sudan Projects.
Here are the winners of the Finals Series of Games
Game 1 Glenys Bursill, $30 - 5/7; Game 2 Jim Field, $30 – 1/2, Game 3 Noel Jennings, $30 – 6/0; Game 4 Brian Thomas , $30 – 2/6; Game 5 Deb Pell, $30 – 1/1; Game 6 Bryce Rawlings, $30 – 3/0; Game 7 Noel Jennings , $30 – 6/0; Game 8 Andrew Leach $30 – 6/1.

Of the 12 games played, 9 games had scores that ended in either 0 or 1, Jock Jennings won three games and Deb Pell twice. Very few high double number results were recorded; the highest was 5/7 in game 1 of the finals, making the odds wide open for 2013 season. A down grade of profit margins due to no drawn games and rematches this year, saw markets panic in the last quarter of the final reporting period until a punter reinvested after the final siren on Saturday, which greatly enthused organizer sentiment. In a wonderful and generous gesture, Debra Pell, our guest speaker from the White Lion mentoring program, has donated her $130 of winnings, back to the South Sudan School Projects. I will keep Deb informed of our clubs progress with this project and I have passed on our clubs appreciation.

Ted Edwards reminded us that Collingwood is not the only black and white Club – so was East Grimsby, his Footy Club.
