Our #SayNo2familyviolence awareness day in conjunction with the Maryborough Harness racing club and Harness racing Victoria was hugely successful. HRV chair, Ken Latta and MHRC manager, Les Chapman both gave great support to the promotion and are to be congratulated on assisting our Club in getting the message out to millions of people; yes millions. The half page article in the Herald Sun also gave prominent exposure to our program.
Central Goldfields Police Inspector, Paul Gardner also attended to give the support from the Victorian Police Force.
We also thank our sponsors for the day which included Bob Osborne, OAM, Central Victorian Transport, Bristol Hill Motel, Louise Stanley, MP, Truefoods,Radio 99.1, the Maryborough District Health Service and of course Maryborough Rotary. The sponsors presented a horse rug with both the sponsors name and the inscription #SayNo2familyviolence to each of the winning trainers.
Appreciation is also extended to Rotarians PP Bob Osborne, PP Noel Jennings, Bob Butterfield and Chris Frahn for their attendance on the day and raising $200 from the tin plus numerous raffle tickets. [ see our website for pics]

Trip to Castlemaine Rotary.
On Wednesday evening Rotarians PP Noel Jennings, PP Rod Brown, PP Garry Higgins, Chris Frahn and Bob "Butters" Butterfield attended Castlemaine Rotary to talk about our #SayNo2familyviolence project.
It was good to see a few of the "older" members of our group reacquaint themselves with a few of the old faces at Castlemaine as our Club used to have a good relationship with the "Maine"
The talk was received very favourably with members purchasing approximately 100 bumper stickers plus a commitment to obtain a Board decision to become involved with our program and to encourage their major bus line to display our program signage.
We also raise approximately $200 plus numerous raffle tickets.
