As part of our series of toasts to International Rotary Clubs, PP Derrick proposed a toast last Thursday to the Rotary Club of Katmandoo in Nepal. Katmandoo was the first Rotary club in Nepal in 1958, and now there are around 70 clubs in Nepal with over 2000 members - so many members, in fact, that in 1996-7, Nepal was granted its own Rotary District status - District 3290. The first District Governor was Tehmas R. Manekshaw, a member of the Katmandoo club, and Derrick and Karen met this gentleman when they visited Nepal recently as part of the Seven Sisters Program.
