At the June 17th meeting, Highland Society Restaurant Manager, Nick Weaver took a few minutes to share his quest to raise at least $100,000 dollars for the Maryborough Hospital Oncology Unit. Nick's father died from Cancer four years ago, so since then, Nick has been raising money to combat Cancer though the Relay for Life and other activities, but this quest is all his idea. Nick has already raised $12,300 for his cause and $2000 of that came from Rotarian Kate Ashton - a very generous contribution! Nick has plans of getting 1000 people on Princes Park oval, at $50 each, getting one hour of ideas for exercise from Maryborough's gym and exercise instructors - each one doing a 10-15 minute workout session. Maybe we could get a Rotary team involved?
