By PP Meryl James...Geoff and I have just finished attending one of the best District conferences we have ever attended - so good, that I wanted to share it with members. This was the very first, virtual Multi-District conference ever held in Victoria - involving all five districts in our state. We both thought we could leave the show running in the background (from 11am until 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, May 1st and 2nd), whilst we did other things, but we were glued to the screen for the whole time on both days! We heard speakers with so many great ideas that could be applied here in Maryborough that I wished the conference had happened before we started our club planning process. (Geoff didn't offer to start it again!) If you missed the event, you will have missed one of the best introductions to the work of Rotary in Victoria you could possibly get, but all is not lost! If you hurry, you could still use this link to catch the sessions. The link is: https://vimeo.com/event/946280  If that doesn't work, Geoff has actually videoed every major session, and we though we could show some of them at club meetings over coming month. Some of the topics covered include: "Connecting our Manningham Community" which could be applied to Maryborough, Goodwill wines as a fundraiser, Using Technology to promote your club, DIK Footscray, Jessie Harman on Rotary's future, Robert Pradilyn on how we can provided housing for all, Captain Jenny Begent on the incredible, increasing problem of homelessness, Using your Business to Give Back to the community, and some great speakers on applying the new Rotary Environment Theme in our area. Jennifer Jones (incoming 2022 RI President) gave an inspiring talk as did Ian Riseley on the changes to the Rotary Foundation
