Club Members who have not given notice of their inability to attend the meeting are expected to pay the cost of the dinner being $20.  Members can pay by cash or EFTpos at the fellowship table on arrival or online to Maryborough Rotary.
Have you thought about prepaying a block of meeting fees online?  Club Treasurer Peter Haywood would be interested in hearing from members who would like to adopt this method.

Each week four Club Members are rostered for Fellowship to assist in greeting attendees, collecting monies, managing the drinks table and putting away meeting items. If you are rostered and unable to attend the meeting, please arrange a replacement.

 Riseley's Remarkables Ramblings
With the weather we are having I hope that we are all keeping cool and hydrated. If you have time either call in or ring those who live alone, times like this can isolate those people.
It is genuinely a great thing to visit businesses around our wonderful city, it gives us an insight into some vocations we might otherwise never understand nor appreciate. NSYF participant Maggie Tranter will visit us on the 1st of February to give us a wrap up of how things went for her there and how it has affected her choices of careers.
The Ballarat Swapmeet Roster will go around again this week and we will look at the roster and jobs for the Grey nomads breakfast over the long weekend.
Thank you for all those members who helped us last week try the new format for committee meetings. Hopefully this will be the format going forward for better outcomes from the meetings.
Come along on Friday morning to the Hub for some fun and fellowship while cooking breakfast. Last year everyone that turned up had a ball. A great morning for getting to know your fellow members. This also counts as a meeting so apologies are still needed please.
Thank you
President Karen McCarthy
Maryborough Rotary
Every ticket needs to be accounted for by Ballarat South Rotary otherwise a Stat Dec is required.
If you are not coming to the breakfast on Friday please contact President Karen on 0428 697 823
Meryl Introduces New Rotary Theme
Rotary International President Elect, Barry Rassin has just announced his theme for 2018-19 - it is, "Be the Inspiration".
Apart from urging us to be inspirational during the next Rotary year, this will be the theme we need to address at the D9780 Conference here in Maryborough.
Last Thursday, President Elect Meryl introduced members to the new Rotary theme for 2018-19.
Meryl reminded members that this will be the theme for DGE Anthony's year, as well as for our club.
Let us all be an inspiration to each other and to our community.
DGE Anthony Chats with IPE Barry
DGE Anthony and Kerry spent some relaxed time with International President Elect Barry Rassin and his wife, Esther at the recent International Assembly. No doubt, Anthony was inspired!
NYSF 2018 Presentation by Maggie Tranter

As mentioned by President Karen - Maggie Tranter is booked in on the 1st February to do her presentation on her experiences at the 2018 NYSF in Canberra.

Based on chats and emails received from Maggie, it will be a brilliant session and will once again, go a long way in highlighting to members and guests, the important role that Rotary plays in facilitating these sorts of experiences for our young adults to be.

It would not happen otherwise and the whole experience fits in very neatly with the ideals of the Clubs Vocational Services Scholarship as well as the presentation last week by Terry Welsh and the Inspirational Learning Center at the Maryborough District Health Services.

This will be a night not to be missed.

Please invite partners, guests or even potential future applicants - who are most welcome to attend.  Members are reminded to contact Derrick for catering numbers.

Max and Billy Presented with Certificates
Terry and Thea's grandchildren, Max and Billy received a certificate of appreciation from President Karen last Thursday. Max and Billy have been regular helpers at our Roadside cleanup and at Dowie Park.
